Projects

I have a whole handful of projects I would like to accomplish over the next several weeks while I am getting some more stay at home time.

Grandma helped with the first one.  A cute board for displaying Minka's artwork.  I found this on Pinterest and ran to Michaels to get the supplies.  The paint and pipe cleaners I already had so this was turned out to be a cheap but very cute wall hanging.

Minka loves to get ready in the morning with me.  She wants to use all the makeup and get her eyelashes done etc.  After about 2 foundations dropped and shattered I decided she needed her own make up....but the lip gloss is too sticky and the eyeshadows get all over her face and clothes.

Pinterest to the rescue!

I found some cheap containers (a giant box of assorted make up for $6) and cut out all the eyeshadow, blush and used one of my own emptied containers (per said foundation shatterings above)

I poured in some different colored nail polish with Minka's supervision of course.  Poof!  Colorful makeup that looks real but wont break and wont run out!

Now one for me.  I already make my own laundry detergent which is awesome and a money saver.  I now found these little gems on pinterest and decided to give them a try.

They are made of wool yarn and sprinkled with some essential oils (thanks sister!) and they are used as dryer balls!  I have not used them yet as they are still in progress, however, it is said they will cut down your drying time by helping float the warm air through the clothes better - all the while scenting the clothes a bit!

I can't wait to give these a try!

Simple additions

Now that we have most of the big projects completed (or in progress) I took some time to add some wall decor.

Thanks to my sister for this adorable wall cling for the girls' room.

Work Party

I started my leave from work on March 2nd and just before I left, my awesome co workers gathered together for delicious cake. (If you are in the Minneapolis area, this was from Grandma's Bakery and it comes HIGHLY recommended).  They also got us a giftcard to spoil Nora a bit!

My little shoveler

This is how we play outside these days.

She is surprisingly good at shoveling for a 2.5 year old!

Well today is my due date and still no baby.  This week we talk induction.  No matter how or when she gets here she is anxiously awaited by many.

Sneak Peek

Recently we received another ultrasound to be sure the baby was growing at the right rate and all is well nearing the end of this pregnancy.

If you can find Miss Nora's downturned lips and nose you may be able to see the resemblance she has with Big Sister Minka.

The picture is of Minka the day after she was born.

Minka Says...

Minka is full of stories these days and many of them catch me by surprise. Here is what I heard this morning.

Dora the Explorer: We need to find the books.  (speaking to the audience) Can you help us find the books?
Minka:  No, I can't.  My legs are broken.
