A day at the beach!

We recently had nice weather and went right out to find one of these Minnesota Lakes we love!  Minka had fun at the park near the lake and playing at the beach.  She learned how to throw rocks in the water and we learned how to confine her to a very small space.  It just so happens that Minka HATES the feeling of sand in her feet.

Learning to throw rocks with Dad.

Coaxing her to the sand without her shoes...
Holding on for dear life with her feet as high as she could get them.

Como?

Yes.  We visited Como Zoo for the first time and I think we will be back often throughout the summer.

Minka getting ready to go.
The Sloth was the first stop.  I think I enjoy Zoos more than Minka sometimes.  Sloths are very cool animals!  Also, if you want a good laugh check out Kristen Bells interview about sloths with Ellen Degeneres here.
It was a little chillier than expected but Minka was very happy to be busy at the zoo.  A little too distracted for a simple picture as you can tell.
Here she is trying to point to the tiger helping another girl see through the crowd!
They had three giraffes and they certainly were tall!
Como had smaller areas for the animals so we were able to see them very well.  In this cage was a zebra and two ostriches.
We were careful to not get TOO close.
Minka did share some cuddles after the animals, walking and weather wore her out.

March Recap

Back to my Happiness Project.

Before I get into April and what is up next, let's review the last month.  I focused on Marriage and specifically the following:
Compliment and Appreciate Explicitly
Go on Dates
Small Proofs of Love

I spent more time this month putting in the extra effort to email and text Jareth throughout the day to see how he was doing with Minka, to say I Love You, and be present when I can't physically be with them.

I learned if you use a toothpick to write in the peel of an uneaten banana it will brown overnight and be a sweet surprise in the morning.

I spent more time spending quality time with Jareth than running around cleaning the house and errands.  We turned off the TV to go outside and worked on dinner and chores together to have time to relax together at the end of the day.

We got a chance to go on a date for dinner and fun at the casino.

We researched the 5 love languages and learned more about each other and the ways we receive and share love.

This month was easy.  This month allowed me to feel the reasons I fell in love with Jareth in the first place.  I am extremely grateful for the amazing husband I have.

There are few, if any, times outsiders get to truly see inside of another marriage.  If you wanted to peek in our marriage you would see two happy, fulfilled, peaceful, completely head over heels in love with each other people.

If the rest of the Happiness Project goes to waste, I know it was worth it to spend a month re-falling in love with my best friend.

Say Cheese!

P.S. This face may look fun and cute and innocent but if you were me you would know in 4 seconds after these pictures an overtired crazy crying inconsoleable Minka ran the house.  Those toddlers are tricky!
