This is the language I am speaking these days. Since I posted last, Minka and I have traveled from Alabama to Minnesota and back again. We spent a day unpacking to repack and move to Denver! We made it! Minka did so well on all the planes and through all the traveling, airports, time changes, and new home. I have been learning a ton for my new job and have started in my new office.
Up next, Minka is going to stay a long weekend with her Grandma and Grandpa M while I spend a weekend away with the Mr. Then after a week back in Colorado for work, Minka and I are back to Minnesota for another week of training and another week of Grandma and Grandpa K love.
A big thanks goes out to my parents for helping watch her while we are in Minnesota and a big thank you to my in-laws for letting Grandma stay with us while I work and watch M&M so Jareth and I can enjoy a weekend together!
We could not be more thankful for all of our wonderful friends and family!

Minnesota or Bust
Well folks. I am traveling again. This time I am bringing the little munchkin and not the ever-so-helpful, I-need-at-least-two-more-hands, calming Daddy. We are going on three planes with two lay-overs.
Only 12 hours of travel planned for today.
We will make it.
Somehow.
I think I can.
We are going to Minnesota so I can attend training for my new job and Miss M&M can be spoiled with Grandma and Grandpa love all week long! I am excited to see family and some friends and I am excited to have this hands on training for my new role BUT I am also sad because once I am done here we spend another whole day traveling back to AL to hang out with Mr. M for a day and then Minker and I are headed to Denver. More planes. More travel. And also more Grandma love waiting for us in Denver :)
I have mixed feelings right about now. I am SO happy with my new job and uber (yes I just said uber) excited to get to travel and have this experience BUT we have to start out this journey without the Mr. I look forward to the day Jareth can be in Denver with us. Until then we will be skyping, face timing, and traveling a lot to see him!!
For now, Minka and I are going to be enjoying home sweet home Minnesota!

I Heart Elmo
In our new home, we have a cute little area we set up as Minka's play area. It is so nice to have everything in one area and M&M spends just about all her time there! It is near the kitchen, laundry room, and living room so we can always keep an eye on her. Here she is playing with one of her favorite toys, Elmo!

Look Ma! No hands!
So far, for us, swaddling M&M has done wonders! It instantly calms her and has aided in restful nights for baby and parents! But, as she gains mobility and strength she has been able to get her arms out in the middle of the night causing a blast of excitement and "time to party" in her mind allowing us all to enjoy playtime at 3AM. She has also been able to get up on her side and we need to have her arms free to make sure she does not get her face stuck in a position for suffocation.
We started slowly because she was very trained that swaddle meant sleep and no swaddle meant play. She started napping without her arms in the swaddle and then we decided to work on night time as well. Every once in awhile she needed her arms swaddled but for about two weeks we have had her arms completely free for all night time and nap time sleeping. She is doing great!

Blackhawks!
An update on the hubby!
Mr. M has been working his butt off lately. He has started his last segment of school, learning and flying his specialized aircraft, the Blackhawk. He spends his day doing academic classes, and then going to the flight line to fly and practice maneuvers in the helicopter. Right now he is gone about 12 hours or more every day and then comes home to eat dinner and do homework/planning for the next days flight and classes. He also has written exams, check rides (hands on flying exam) and simulators throughout this time period too.
Between the Army and my new job we are very busy these days....but I would rather have this craziness than to sit here and watch life pass me by!

6 Month Appt
Minka recently had her 6 month well baby appointment. I am so thankful the only time I have ever had to take her to the Dr. is for her well baby appts! This was the first time I had to facilitate the immunizations. Daddy wasn't able to take over this time around. We did okay on our own :)
Her new stats are:
At this appointment they made sure she was rolling from belly to back, back to belly, babbling, raking toys and passing them from hand to hand etc. She was right on track doing all of the above EXCEPT rolling from her back to her belly.
Until the next day.
Now every time I lay her down in her crib she waits until I leave the room and she flips onto her belly. I go in to a very excited M&M with the "haha look at ME!" expression.

- Weighing in at 15lbs 10oz- 34% (since this appt we have started doing 3 meals of solid food. Her weight percentile has steadily dropped since she was born so we are going to bulk this baby up the best way we know how!)
- She is 27.75 inches tall putting her in the 96th percentile!
- Head circumference is 17"- 65%

Fast Food Free February: Fail
Well well well. We are still here! Just been out of the swing of things lately so I promise to get back on the blogging bandwagon....well....sometime.
So for February I gave up fast food. I did really well the first half and then I moved and went traveling for work and it all went downhill. WAY downhill. It was not a complete failure though. I found out I need to learn how to cook more meals. More delicious meals for busy moms. I used to enjoy cooking- now I just want to eat whatever is the fastest no matter how edible it is. I also found out eating at home is WAY cheaper even if we buy a lot of food including 'specialty' items! It usually it healthier too, even when I made poor choices at home eating out would have been way worse or much larger portions!
Although I do enjoy eating out once in awhile, it did encourage me to make more food at home!
