Minka: I am busy eating...

Mom: Let's try one more time. Say Cheese!
Minka: I will look at you but I am not smiling. You are interrupting my lunch. Try again later!

Minka's One Year Old!

It seems like just yesterday Jareth was driving me to the hospital so we could meet this precious little girl.

She was 7lbs 7 ounces, 20 inches, born on August 23rd at 8:26 am and she was feisty, attempting to snatch the doctor's tools from her hand as she entered this world.

Minka has always been a girly girl with her long eyelashes, her meek shake of the head when she doesn't want anymore food and learning to stand on her toes- ready for those high heels!

She has always been a very alert, smiley, goofy little girl.

Minka has visited the lakes of Minnesota, the Gulf of Mexico, the mountains of Wyoming, been on dozens of plane rides, and seen seven states.

She has been right on track to meet all of her major milestones of lifting her head, rolling over, crawling, walking and now trying to run, jump, and climb on everything!

Minka is eating almost solely table food and is switching to whole milk as we speak. No more bottle!

She has always enjoyed sleeping. She still takes two naps a day and is sleeping 12-13 hours straight every night!

Minka is quite the helper too! She enjoys "helping" with laundry, mashing food into the carpet, and spreading her toys about the whole place. She is very proud as you can see.

She is an ambitious little girl and eager to be like the big kids at daycare.

Her favorite toys are still books but she is also quite the dancer and has started to sing along to music.

I am not exactly sure how we got from holding this tiny infant to chasing around this silly toddler. It has been the best year of my life watching her grow up and learn to do things on her own. I never imagined being a Mom would be so fun and rewarding. I wouldn't trade her slobbery kisses and little giggles for anything in the world.
