A writing post

Usually I focus on the pictures.  Minka is cute but this post is for an update on us.  If you don't care to read join me again shortly for another picture post!

What has Jareth been up to?

Jareth has been staying home with Minka ever since we moved to MN.  He has really enjoyed it and been doing a great job with her!  She learns something new everyday!  My favorites are her pointing to your shirt and then when you look she pokes your nose, Gotcha! and if you ask her what a sound a penguin makes she just waddles back and forth and she recently learned a magic trick with making a little egg disappear with a small blankie.

She knows her whole alphabet (Thanks for cousin Mandy for making a perfect alphabet book for her!). She can identify some colors when asked. She can tell you how old she is and sometimes what her middle name is.  She says new words each day and is getting better pronounciation on the ones we have been hearing for awhile.

Jareth loves spending time with her and has become quite good at dishes, laundry and dinners :) which has been extremely helpful to me as well!  He is now looking for jobs and we are hoping something pans out soon to get Minka in daycare and hopefully move out of this townhouse when our lease is up.

Jareth has been working on restoring a 1966 Mustang, however, with our wonderfully close townhouse neighbors he is unable to continue work until we find another place to paint and finish it.

What have I been doing?

I have been working hard and things are getting a bit busier which is always exciting on my project.  I love my team and have enjoyed the new challenge in this role.  I have been learning a lot of about Cargill, project management, myself and specifics to the project I am assigned to.

I have been feeling much more relaxed the last few weeks.  I feel like we finally have a schedule and it has been quite a few months since Jareth has had military commitments which eases a whole other aspect of life.  Minka is so fun each evening I spend forgetting work and laughing at what a silly girl she is.  I have also been working on my Happiness Project (more posts to come on that) which has kept me busy but also been teaching me what is personally important in life.

Jareth and I have had a lot of fun recently.  We spent one night grilling at the park, having a picnic, and letting Minka run around.  We spent a day at the Mall of America enjoying the day out and walking through the mall.  We bought discs and went frolfing.  We let us take a day for ourselves having Minka babysat by Great Uncle Tom and Great Grandma Maggie (thanks again!) and went on a bar crawl in NE Minneapolis which led to a delicious bar burger and TWO BINGO winnings for me!  We also went to the Burnsville mall and let Minka attempt to ride a fire engine ride while we were there.  This literally scared the pee right out of her.  Poor Minka.  No more fire truck moving rides for her!

That is about it.  We also get to see friends and/or family each weekend which has been a lot of fun.  This summer we plan on being outside as much as possible and hopefully getting a house by the end of September!
